Driving

I realized this morning amidst some physical and mental fog and mist, I will keep doing whatever it takes. I seem to be in the backseat with a driver who knows the way. (Or thinks she does) I'll just let her drive.

Away

"AWAY". Title to the new piece on the easel. A place, a frame of mind. A journey.

Film event

"Two Films Two Artists"

A film event that was shown in my gallery/studio. I was pleased with the turnout given the weather had turned to freezing rain and sleet and the roads were tricky.

"Rising" a 30 minute documentary of moi was shown first, then a 15 minute unfinished version of "Artist in the Margin", a film about Pierre Prevost, a french sculptor.

Always hard to watch yourself for 30 minutes. Not believing or wanting to believe that it is really me carrying on and looking and sounding so stupid. Couldn't I have thought of something more profound to say? Couldn't I have been the other artist instead?
He didn't say anything. But then Emily didn't ask him. But then he doesn't speak english. The film was good though, inspiring to watch and all of the audience wanted to jump on a plane and go to his humble cottage in the country, play with his kittens, tinker in the junk pile, drink the wine and be his friend.

Emily's insights and compassion to and for artists is obvious in these two films. She will go on to do great things.
